Change of pace – Israel Kamakawiwio’ole “IZ”

After reading lots of news stories about our messed up world, I needed a change of pace.Here is a video of the greatest Hawaiian singer (in my opinion). A giant guy with a soothing voice. Israel Kamakawiwio’ole was better known by the world as IZ. Unfortunately he passed away at the age of 38 back in 1997, but he still has a lot of big fans in the Hawaiian music genre. I fell in love with his music when I first came to Japan in 2002 and there was a giant poster of IZ hanging on the wall at my favorite restaurant/bar in Japan…Stove’s. Def Tech – Catch the Wave – music video

This Def Tech video is a Jawaiian (Japanese – Hawaiian) song called “Catch the Wave”. It reminds me of when we first arrived in Japan in March 2006 and our daughter was just learning to walk. We were staying in a weekly mansion at the time and had free cable, so we could watch all the music videos and this video was on ALL the time. One guy is from Japan and the other guy is from Hawaii. All of Def Tech’s other songs are really rap…this song is totally different from their usual style. Enjoy some English and Japanese…
