I am all for Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails doing what they are doing. I don’t agree with stealing music (movies and TV shows are o.k.). Stop file sharing your mp3’s or you will end like Jammie Thomas the 30 year-old mother that owes the RIAA $220,000. Here is a Weird Al video to knock Jammie and the RIAA.
Note: If you live in Japan no worries. Just rent the latest CD’s for a 1,000 yen or so and rip ‘em. Legal in Japan. Just don’t share them. I guess it is similar to those in the U.S. buying on iTunes with no DRM. Buy, but don’t share.

Japanese Yakuza (gangsters) are becoming more and more fearless when it comes to shooting people in broad daylight. On Sunday, it was reported that 3 shots were fired in a busy market in Tokyo’s Taito Ward killing 42 year-old Shinichi Nakanishi, a former member of the Yamaguchi-gumi. No one has been arrested for the murder as of Monday.

I left our apartment before 6am and got home a little after 11pm. Not a fun day. Normally times like this happen when I go out after work for dinner and a few drinks. But, tomorrow will be the same. Deadlines suck. If I lived closer too the office I would still be working right now. I need to design 2 totally different proposals for a front engine cradle in 4 days. My mouse hand aches and my eyes are absolutely killing me. I stare at the screen for way too long everyday and for the past 3 days my eyes have been totally blood shot. I am using eye drops to try and repair the damage, but 10 mins. later and the dryness and pain kicks in again. I look like a stoner with no buzz. One more work day and the weekend will be here! Damn my eyes hurt. I need an IV for my eyes! I forgot to mention that I didn’t take a lunch break and I said nothing all day…straight up passion…it sucks. I must try to sleep and do again tomorrow. It is now 12:33am and I need to wake up in 4 and a half hours…
Google’s stock is over $600??? WTF

The programming gods are hard at work…more info on The Unofficial Apple Blog
UPDATE – MacRumors reports that Ryan Block form Engadget has confirmed that the jaibreak beta worked to hack an iPod touch. Read more about it on MacRumors.com
My only concern is that so far all the hacks for the iPod touch are software only. We need some mod chips available to shut Apple out. Any software only hacks can and will be reversed or destroyed by Apple (possibly turning your iPod touch into a useless paperweight – brick). Some people ask why I care so much about the iPod touch, easy no iPhones available in Japan. We want mod chips!!!

Tonight on TV they showed a lot of Kenji Nagai’s final footage that he filmed before he was murdered. He walked around and asked alot of questions to the locals on his final day. He was one smart journalist, as it was stated that he changed his tapes several times to ensure that news wasn’t stuck in his camera. Nagai-san knew it was a dangerous place. If I find any links of the footage then they will be added here. If you are an American citizen then please write to your government officials for support democracy in Myanmar without killing the innocent.

If you have been following the Myanmar (Burma) struggle than you might know that a strong and brave journalist by the name Kenji Nagai was gunned down last week during the height of the protest. Today his funeral ceremony was held in Tokyo. Tonight on the news they showed a lot of his last video shots during the day that he died. Kenji Nagai was an amazing man. I wish I could do pick up where he left off without fear or sadness from my family. That is what keeps me from doing more – my family. I feel lost…I want to do something, but I don’t want my family to be sad. I hope that Nagai-san’s actions will finally open Japan’s newspapers towards telling Japan the truth. Ever since I moved to Japan I found their articles biased and that the real big news was absent from the national news. Today my Japanese wife finally agreed that the Japanese news hides a lot of information from the public. I hope that others feel the same. Nagai-san rest is peace and thank you for bringing the Myanmar struggle to the fore front of the Japanese media. Hopefully the Japanese government will pick up where you left off.
I don’t like to swear in my blog posts…but…FUCK YOU-MYANMAR GOVERMENT! You will fail in your quest to kill your peoples’ dreams. FREEDOM will prevail!

I have been dabbling with studying Japanese for the past 4 years with no major changes.
Today I am setting my first goal in years. Starting today I am aiming to pass the JPLT Level 4 test in December 2008. That gives me over 1 year. No excuses if I don’t pass. I have to start somewhere with a definite date of completion because I only work well under pressure.
FYI…Level 4 is the lowest/easiest test. Level 1 is for the masters.
